Uber den Künstler

Tito Agnoli is an Italian designer who was born in Lima, Peru, in 1931. After the Second World War, he moved to Italy. Trained as a painter, he began studying at the Faculty of Architecture in Milan and graduated in 1959. There he met Gio Ponti and Carlo de Carli and became their assistant. He was, nevertheless, already working as a designer in the early fifties. He has created projects for, among others, Arflex, Cinova, Lema, Matteo Grassi, Molteni, Montina, Oluce, Pierantonio Bonacina, Poltrona Frau, Schiffini, Ycami. He has been nominated twice for the Compasso d’Oro award and was awarded the gold medal at Neocon in Chicago. Some of his works are included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He died in Milan on February 2012.
