Thomas Heeremans

Biografie
1641 - 1694

Uber den Künstler

Thomas Heeremans was born in 1641 in the Dutch city of Haarlem. He was specialized in both summer and winter landscapes, in which he frequently incorporated people. Heeremans was greatly influenced by Claes Molenaer, a renowned Dutch painter from Haarlem as well. From around 1550 until the middle of the ninetheenth century, the climate in Northern Europe could be compared to a small-scale ice age. The Dutch winters during the seventeenth century were especially cold. Paintings by Heeremans are thus historically valuable, because this change in climate is often depicted by him very well. Heeremans signed his paintings with HMANS. In 1694, Heeremans passed away, again in the Dutch Haarlem.
