- Über KunstwerkThe Dutch painter and sculptor Hans Bayens (1924-2003) was known for his loose, impressionist way of depicting his subjects. When one looks at his work one can understand that Bayens was a great admirer of the famous Belgian sculptor and painter Rik Wouters. This lovely bronze sculpture of Bayens is called "Hommage to Rik Wouters".
- Über KünstlerHans Bayens war ein niederländischer Bildhauer, Buchdesigner und Maler. Er wurde in Belgien geboren, war aber das Kind zweier niederländischer Eltern. Nach seiner Schule in Amsterdam studierte er zwischen 1946 und 1949 am Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten (Antwerpen). Er war Schüler von Isodore Opsomer. Nachdem er in Paris gearbeitet hatte, zog er 1952 nach Amsterdam. Bayens im impressionistischen Stil gemalt. Er malte Willem Drees, Wim Kan und Maurits van Loon und andere. Als Bildhauer fertigte er Bronzen von niederländischen Autoren wie Mutatuli und Theo Thijssen an. Er gilt als Mitglied des Onafhankelijk Realisme (unabhängiger Realismus).
